Heading to Philadelphia
Susie Larsson
For several months, I have been preparing for a wholesale show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in downtown Philadelphia: American Handcrafted. It has been 11 years since my last wholesale show in my hometown of Seattle.
As much as I love to travel by car to all of these different locations in Arizona, California, Oregon, Colorado, Wyoming and Utah, I have made a decision to stay more local this year. With that said, yes, I will be flying to the east coast for my first show on the east coast but I am hoping that with enough orders I will have the opportunity to stay closer to home and work more in my studio.
I have a mock set-up booth inside my studio which is hindering me a bit in getting around, but I am making a bit of an upgrade and changing the look of my booth. It has looked the same for years and it’s time for a refresh.
As I usually do when I travel to other places, I make sure to check out the local museums and parks and other places of interest. I have one extra day before the show starts next Saturday and another day to venture out into Philly the day after the show.
Hopefully this wholesale show will be a success and I won’t have to drive thousands of more miles this year like I did last year.
Catch you in the next blog.
