Summer Time
Susie Larsson
Looks like I have taken months again to write another blog. Long anticipated, it’s true. This year started in Tubac, Arizona for their annual spring show. The weather was cold, very cold for southern Arizona. It was extremely beautiful and clarifying at the same time. I left Seattle at the beginning of a snow storm which was unprecedented for this area of the country. It was later called “Snowmageddon” and I caught the first night of that by driving through the snow and icy streets to catch my plane to Phoenix.
My plan is usually to drive to Arizona, but because of all of my car issues, life has changed drastically for me. After 10 years of working on my jewelry full-time, I started a new full-time job in March. This will be temporary and I will return to work full time again on my jewelry.
I’ve continued to do several shows this year, with my first local show and first-time attending the long-running, fundraising event in Fife called RAGS. I felt honored to be part of a fantastic group of people who have worked extremely hard to raise funds to help women and children to have a better life.
In the beginning of May, I had a 1-day market invitation to set up for three hours at the New Nordic Museum in Ballard. It was a fantastic event and more of my jewelry will be available for purchase in their museum shop.
Counting about five shows over the past years, the University Street Fair in mid-May proved to be as fun as ever. The weather was absolutely perfect (better than today, July 11th) and promised a very beautiful summer.
June came in quickly and I was juried into the Edmonds Art Show for the third time. This is always a beautiful show and the amount of volunteers who come out to assist with the show is outstanding.
In just two weeks today, I will be setting up for the 6th Street Fair in Bellevue. This is always an exciting show to attend and who know what can happen.
I have no shows scheduled until the holiday season. Stay tuned for updates to my Show Schedule as shows are confirmed.
