About
Susie Larsson
Jewelry designer
Combining high quality glass beads and detailed craftsmanship, I create hand-woven jewelry with a needle and thread as her basic tools. Growing up, I wore very little jewelry. In my 20’s, I gave away all of my jewelry, believing that adornment of oneself was fundamentally selfish. Of course, I was young and naive and did not understand what self-adornment really meant.
Since 2012, I have been travelling and showing and selling my jewelry to museum gift store, small boutiques and directly to customers throughout the year at Art Festivals.
I grew up in the verdant Pacific Northwest and reside here now. With floor to ceiling windows in my open studio, I create pieces which have never been seen before. Combining my love of the PNW and all of the influences I have had the opportunity to weave together thousands and thousands and thousands of beads to create bracelets (my favorite), necklaces, chokers, earrings, rings, and barrettes.
In 2019, life changed for me in a fantastic and challenging way. I have been able to take the hardships while at the same time, I can continue to create my jewelry in smaller batches.
I use Japanese glass beads in all of my pieces. Using a very strong thread, each bead is sewn on, one by one. The clasps on the bracelets get special attention by ensuring the strength and durability of the product.
